Who We Are
Prairie Chapel is an open-country congregation that worships in a traditional style with a little bit of gospel thrown in. We are farmers, insurance agents, educators, engineers, lawyers, homemakers, and just plain good folks from adjoining property to as far as Fulton, Columbia, Ashland, and Jefferson City.
You'll be welcomed at our door, and expect to see attire from ties to jeans and in between.
We believe God's grace is available to all and that we all have the freedom to receive it. We would hope that you would experience the grace, hope, and love you need when you visit us.
We are of the United Methodist Denomination (See “What We Believe”) who take the middle way. You will feel comfortable here.
Who Our Pastor Is
Our pastor is Rick Matson who has been assigned to Prairie Chapel since June 2013. He is a second (or third or fourth) career pastor who grew up in a farm community in South Dakota, is educated in engineering and management and has had careers in the US Army, in the aerospace industry and as a small business owner before becoming a Certified Lay Minister. His wife, Rosemary, remains his high school sweet-heart. They have an adult son in Columbia and a granddaughter at the University of Missouri.
